Pusat Studi Geoteknik adalah pusat studi yang mempelajari rekayasa untuk mengaplikasikan ilmu MEKANIKA TANAH dan MEKANIKA BATUAN pada Bangunan Teknik Sipil dengan didasari pengetahuan Geologi dan Wawasan Lingkungan.

Misi
- Melakukan kajian-kajian geoteknik untuk mendukung pembangunan dan memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan-permasalahan spesifik di Indonesia.
- Mengembangkan ilmu geoteknik selaras dengan perkembangan terkini (State of The Art) dan kearifan lokal.
- Melaksanakan publikasi ilmiah untuk memberikan kontribusi terhadap komunitas geoteknik.
- Meningkatkan kemampuan civitas akademi dan masyarakat luas dalam rekayasa geoteknik.

Indonesia has been well recognized for many aspects of the geological hazard where geotechnical engineering plays important roles in solving the problem and modeling the field condition into numerical or physical model. Soft soils and problematic soils are the main challenge in geotechnical engineering. Indonesia has varieties of problematic soils from very soft to soft soils, organics and peats, volcanic ashes, tuff, expansive soils, clay shales, etc. The center focus on the study of the characteristics of the material and the most suitable technology for ground treatment. - CENTER FOR URBAN GEO-ENGINEERING

Due to the development of the cities and mega cities, various problems arises and underground space are now on demand, for storage, tunnels, basement, water-ways, and underground space opening.
